Sec. 13-1. Creating disturbance.

Any person who shall, while in the rooms of the public library create any disturbance or who shall be guilty of any conduct calculated to annoy or disturb others in such room, and who shall not cease such conduct when requested to do so by the librarian or other person in charge of such room, shall be guilty of an offense.

Sec. 13-2. Loitering.

It shall be unlawful for any person to loiter or sit upon the stairway, or loiter in the hall leading to the public library rooms.

Sec. 13-3. Failure to return books or pay fines.

Any person who shall fail to return any book taken by him/her from the public library at the time when, by the rules of the library, such book should be returned, and who shall not promptly pay the fines provided for by the rules and regulations governing the library, as the same have been or may be established by the board of directors of the library, shall be guilty of an offense; provided that no penalty under this chapter shall be less than the amount of fines due under the rules and regulations of the board of directors.

Sec. 13-4. Mutilating, etc., books, etc.

It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully or maliciously deface, destroy, mutilate or injure any book, pamphlet or paper belonging to the public library.

Sec. 13-5. Unlawful removal of articles.

Any person who shall take or remove from the library rooms any article without the consent of the librarian, or person in charge of the room, shall be guilty of an offense.

Sec. 13-6. Those prohibited from use not to visit.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person who is not entitled to the privilege of the public library to persist in visiting the same after being notified to remain away.

(b) Any person whom the board of directors of the public library of the city shall exclude from the use of the same and the reading room thereof for the willful violation of any of the rules and regulations of the library and reading room, who shall persist in visiting the same after being notified to remain away therefrom shall be guilty of an offense.
